Panchkula Golf Course, one of the two truly public golf courses in India, owned by the Haryana State Industrial Development Corporation ( HSIDC)  on the outskirts of Chandigarh suffered serious damage when the adjoining Ghaggar River overflowed its banks following extreme rainfall.

The course had to be temporarily closed since the fairways and greens closest to the river banks were covered with water and soil but having commenced recovery and clearing work immediately, the course should be open again very soon.
