Pakistan announces new championship course

In a positive development for the game in the SAARC region, Pakistan has announced a new 18 hole championship course designed by six-time major champion Sir Nick Faldo, to be built in the historic city of Multan, in central Pakistan. 

 “Rumanza Golf Club”, as it is to be named, is to open by the end of 2021.The property is being developed by DHA Multan, which includes high-end villas and apartments, a 5-star hotel, a commercial centre and other world-class sports and leisure facilities. 

The 7,500-yard course will be an exciting, challenging and enjoyable test of golf, with a variety of stunning holes featuring mango and orange trees, lakes, links-style revetted bunkers and large waste areas. Designed and built to internationally recognized environmental and sustainability standards, Rumanza will set new standards of excellence for golf developments in the region and be a member of the IMG Prestige network of elite clubs around the world.

The golf facilities include a luxurious clubhouse, double ended driving range, short game area and golf academy, which will be used to develop junior golf in Pakistan.
