The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) announced an exciting and action-packed first half for its 2025 season, featuring a host of new events, expanded prize purses, and strategic partnerships aimed at advancing men’s professional golf in the country. The season tees off on February 11 in Kolkata and will run through 11 consecutive weeks of non-stop golfing action, offering a total prize pool of 15.66 crore.

Key highlights of the 2025 PGTI season:

One of the most significant updates for 2025 is the introduction of four new events. These include:

  • Chhattisgarh Open Golf Championship: The Fairway Golf & Lake Resort in Naya Raipur, Chhattisgarh, will host its maiden PGTI event with a prize purse of 1 crore.
  • PGTI Invitational: Scheduled for the Jaypee Greens Golf Resort in Greater Noida, with 1.5 crore in prize money.
  • Indorama Open Golf Championship: To be played at the Kalhaar Blues & Greens GC in Ahmedabad, with a prize purse of 2 crore.
  • Calance Open: This new addition will be held in the Delhi NCR region, with 1 crore up for grabs.

These new events mark new partnerships for PGTI, with the Government of Chhattisgarh, Indorama Ventures (world’s largest producer of PET resins), and Calance (an IT services provider) coming on board as title sponsors to back their respective tournaments.

Apart from the new additions, the Kapil Dev – Grant Thornton Invitational returns for its third edition at the Prestige Golfshire Club in Bengaluru with a prize purse of 2 crore. Three international events will also feature prominently on the calendar – The Hero Indian Open (co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour), with a prize pool of $2.25 million, and the Kolkata Challenge and Delhi Challenge (co-sanctioned by the European Challenge Tour), each offering $300,000 in prize money.

The 2025 season sees PGTI extending its footprint to 17 states across India, enhancing its national presence and supporting its goal of increasing golfing opportunities across the country.

Another major development in the 2025 season is the introduction of PGTI NexGen events – a 2nd-rung tour which returns after a five-year hiatus. These tournaments, designed to nurture and develop emerging talent, will take place in the first quarter of 2025 at Phillaur, Kapurthala, and Golden Greens (Gurugram), each offering 20 lakh in prize money.

The newly formed partnership with Victorious Endeavours, a sports development company whose brand Victorious Choice has joined the board as a new Tour Partner for PGTI, bringing new resources and strategic support to the tour.

PGTI President Kapil Dev expressed his enthusiasm about the upcoming season and the tour’s objective to increase playing opportunities for Indian golfers: “We are thrilled to offer more events and higher prize money, which reflect our goal to create maximum playing opportunities for Indian professionals. The new partnerships also signal a positive growth trajectory for Indian golf.”
