At just 21 years old, Pranavi Urs of Mysore’s consistent form was on display at the US$ 1.1 million La Sella Open on the Ladies European Tour in Spain, where she carded rounds of 72-71-71 for an 8-under total of 280, finishing tied for 7th. This result, which earned her US$ 27,200, marks her fourth top-10 finish of the season and lifts her to 24th in the year long LET rankings—just behind fellow Indian standout Diksha Dagar, who sits at 18th.
The other Indian pros, Ridhima Dilawari and Tvesa Malik, finished much lower down in the event while Seher Atwal missed the cut by one stroke.
With six tournaments still left in the season, Pranavi is assured to retain her playing rights for 2025 having earned US$ 110,000 from 13 events.
As an amateur, Pranavi won the All India Junior Girls Championship twice and represented India at prestigious international events like the Queen Sirikit Cup, Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific Championship, and the European Young Masters. She was also the top amateur at the 2017 Hero Women’s Indian Open at just 14 years of age and was the only Indian to compete in the Major Champions Invitational, representing Team Sir Nick Faldo in the U.S.
As a pro, she topped the 2022 Hero Women’s Rankings with five wins in just 13 starts, before focusing in 2023 on Europe and South Africa, making cuts consistently. She earned her full playing rights in Europe at the Final Stage of LET Qualifying Tournament in Marrakech finishing 13th in December 2023.
The LET plays in France this week for the US$ 420,000 Lacoste Ladies Open de France from Sep. 26-28 and will be headed to Gurgaon for the US$400,000 Hero Women’s Indian Open from Oct 24 to 27, 2024.
