19 year old Pranavi Urs of Mysore, reinforced her No 1 ranking on the Hero Women’s Domestic Pro Tour ( Hero WPGT) with her 4th win of the season, shooting 67-71-71 (2-over 209) at Bangalore Golf Club to win by 3 strokes over back in form Delhi girl Seher Atwal who scored 68-73-71 (5-over 212).
The story of the final round however is quite intriguing as the two girls were tied with 7 holes to play. But then long hitting Urs, who is supported by Mumbai based MultiNational, AllCArgo Logistics, reeled off four birdies in the five holes from the 12th to 16th to eventually win comfortably by three strokes.
This was Urs’s eighth career title on the Hero WPGT with her first title coming in 2018 at age 15 when she won at Eagleton while still an amateur. After next week’s Hero WPGT at Prestige Golfshire in Bangalore this week she leaves for the USA where she will play the first stage of LPGA Tour Qualifying tournament in August.
Hitaashee Bakshi shot 73-70-72 (8-over 215) to finish third, followed by Hyderabad’s Sneha Singh, who shot 72-75-69 (9-over 216) in her professional debut.
