Pranavi Urs, the 18-year-old pro from Mysore, made a strong comeback from a shoulder injury which kept her out of competition for the last month, shooting 67-66-72 (11-under 205) at Prestige Golfshire in Bangalore, for a commanding third title of the season, and seventh of her career, on the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour. Local golfer Asmitha Satish finished second at 7-under 209.
The long hitting Urs, who is supported by AllCArgo Logistics, will attempt to play the LPGA Qualifying tournament in America this August, started the final round with an unassailable eight shot lead over Jahanvi Bakshi, having made an astounding 15 birdies in the first 36 holes and was never challenged as she shot matching 36s on the front and back nines. Meanwhile Satish shot a 5-under 67 to move past Bakshi into second place.
Urs’s younger sister, Vidhatri Urs (A), finished tied for third with Jahanvi Bakshi at 2-under 214, followed by seasoned pro Neha Tripathi at 1-over 217.
The Hero WPGT will play its 8th Leg at Karnataka Golf Association in Bangalore from June 14-17.
