Public Sector giants continue to support Indian players

The 45th PSPB Inter-Unit Golf Tournament concluded on December 5 at the prestigious Royal Calcutta Golf Club (RCGC) in Kolkata

The Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) organised its 45th PSPB Inter-Unit Golf Tournament at the historic Royal Calcutta Golf Club (RCGC) in Kolkata from December 2-5.

For the past forty years, PSPB giants such as ONGC, Oil India, Bharat Petroleum, GAIL, Indian Oil, HPCL, and others have supported upcoming Indian amateurs, which enables them to travel across the country playing national tournaments. This year’s event, hosted by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), saw 6 member organisations participating with around 75 players to deliver a week of thrilling competition among the top-most players from various units.

GAIL (India) secured the Team Championship (Gross) with players HC Pant, Jasjeet Singh, and top-ranked national players Rakshit Dahiya, Anshul Mishra, and Zara Anand.
Oil India was in second position, while Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. secured the title in NET category.

Junior and scholarship players from various oil companies have shown great promise as future stars of the sport. This edition of the eagerly awaited annual tournament is a great endeavour and a commendable show of support for young talent that helps to nurture and grow the game in the country.
