18-year-old Avani Prashanth has earned full playing rights in Europe for 2025

Indian women golfers are gearing up for a strong presence on the 2025 Ladies European Tour (LET), with familiar names like Olympian Diksha Dagar and 2024 LET Rookie Pranavi Urs being joined by a record 4 Indian girls on tour in 2025. Additionally, LPGA-regular Aditi Ashok is expected to make select appearances in Europe as she does each year.

A record number of four of the six Indians in the fray have secured playing rights in various categories through strong performances at the Final Stage of the LET Qualifying Tournament, held last week in Morocco.

18-year-old Bangalore golfer Avani Prashanth secured the highest ranking among the Indian contingent with a T16 finish, earning Category 12 status (awarded to the top 20 qualifiers). Prashanth, who turned professional in October earlier this year after a stellar amateur career, posted rounds of 69-69-73-71-70 to finish at 11-under-par. Avani credited her caddie and old friend, Stuthii , for helping her stay composed during the tournament. The caddy arrangement was finalised at the last minute after her regular caddie from Scotland had to pull out due to a family emergency.

This year’s Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour (HWPGT) Rankings winner Hitaashee Bakshi of Delhi and Hyderabad’s Sneha Singh, who was the Rankings winner in 2023, finished next at T36, and Chandigarh’s Amandeep Drall ended the week at T48 to secure Category 16 status (awarded to #21-50 qualifiers). Bakshi, despite a slow start with rounds of 76 and 77, bounced back impressively with scores of 67-68-69. These three will earn at least 12 starts in Europe in 2025 and, if they perform well at the start of the year, can qualify for even more events.

HWPGT Rankings winner from 2014-16, Vani Kapoor, and Mysore’s Vidhatri Urs finished T78 and T86, respectively, earning them Category 19 status (awarded to players finishing outside the Top 50 and ties).

The LET has announced a record 2025 season schedule with new events in Australia, Tenerife, and Belgium, totalling 30 events across 20 countries.

The season begins in February with the Lalla Meryem Cup at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat, Morocco. It will then move to Saudi Arabia for the Aramco Series presented by PIF – Riyadh, which will continue to offer a marquee $5 million prize fund. The four other global events in the Aramco Series will see their prize money doubled to $2 million each.
