Rory won the PGA TOUR’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am for his 27th TOUR title
Rory McIlroy opened his PGA TOUR season with a commanding performance, securing his 27th TOUR title at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. McIlroy shot a 6-under 66, including a back-nine 31, to finish two strokes ahead of the field and claim the $3.6 million prize along with 700 FedExCup points.
This win marks McIlroy’s first PGA TOUR victory since the Truist Championship in May 2024 and the first time he has won before March in his career. The AT&T Pebble Beach, a Signature Event, grants exemptions into all remaining series tournaments, though McIlroy already holds spots in those, including the Masters and the PGA Championship.
“Some venues in this game mean a little more than others,” McIlroy reflected post-win. “Winning at one of golf’s cathedrals is really special.”
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, returning after a month from minor hand surgery after an accident involving punctured glass while cooking, shot a final-round 67, tying for ninth.
Rory proved that he is still one of the hottest players on the planet and perhaps the only one who can challenge Scheffler’s supremacy in 2025. If he can win more often and come up head-to-head with Scheffler, it will surely be the boost needed by the PGA TOUR to rekindle dwindling fan interest.

Next, the PGA TOUR heads to TPC Scottsdale for the WM Phoenix Open, known as the “Greenest Show on Grass.” The full-field event will showcase top-tier talent facing off in the desert’s unique challenges, including the iconic 16th-hole coliseum at the Stadium Course.
