Pepperdine graduate and the US men’s Collegiate player of the Year, 23-year-old Sahith Theegala (of Indian origin), is working on his pro career and made his first PGA Tour start in June 2020.

California born Sahith has so far played seven events on the Korn Ferry Tour in USA and made cuts in six, with his best result of a tied-9th, coming in April 2021. Sahith has earned US$ 34,100 (₹27.6 lakhs) on the Korn Ferry but has a lot of work to do to get into the top 25 who  automatically earn their PGA Tour cards for the following season.

On the PGA Tour he has played six events, including the U.S. Open and made cuts in three with his best result of tied-14th at the US$6.6 mn Safeway Open in Sep. 2020 and has picked up US$ 170,000 (₹ 1.2 crores) as a non-member of the tour.

Currently Sahith has been grinding at Monday Qualifiers on the PGA tour which are generally one round events with over 150 players fighting it out for three or four spots for a spot in a PGA Tour event scheduled for the week. There’s even a Pre-Qualifier for Monday Q’s to select only the best for Monday Q’s, which shows how tough it is to get into tournaments on the biggest tour in the world.
