25-year-old Seher Atwal of New Delhi shot 68-71-72 (5-under 211) to win the 14th Leg of the Hero WPGT by 11 strokes at her home course the Delhi Golf Club and move to 2nd in the 2023 WGAI standings.
Ridhima Dilawari of Delhi, Asmitha Sathish of Bangalore and No 1 ranked Sneha Singh of Mysore finished in a three-way tie for second at 6-over 222.
This was Atwal’s second win of the season. She also won the 2023 season opener by one shot over Ridhima Dilawari at the Poona Club Golf Course in Pune back in January.
Atwal joins four other players – Sneha Singh, Gaurika Bishnoi, Neha Tripathi, and Tvesa Malik – who have two victories this season.
The next event for the girls will be the LET-sanctioned US$400,000 Hero Women’s Indian Open from Oct. 19-22 at the DLF Golf and Country Club, Gurgaon which sees players like hot favourite Diksha Dagar in action following her blistering season in Europe which has seen her move up to 3rd in the LET Rankings for 2023.
