Diksha Dagar registered a solo-7th finish in Ireland

Led by Diksha Dagar, who continued her hot streak with a 7th place finish,  three other Indian girls played all four rounds at the US$ 420,000 KPMG Women’s Irish Open held at Dromoland Castle in Ireland. Tvesa Malik shot 73-72-69-70 (4-under 284) to finish tied-36th, Vani Kapoor 73-70-74-71 (even-par 288) to finish tied-54th and Ridhima Dilawari 72-72-75-80 (11-over 299) to register  69th position.

Amandeep Drall was the only Indian to miss the cut with her rounds of 75-74.

This was Diksha’s sixth top-10 finish in a season where she also has one victory, which boosted her world ranking to 160.

Diksha started off impressively, with a flawless 65, and maintained her lead through the first 36 holes. However, during the third round, she posted a 71, causing her to slip back into a tied-3rd position, trailing Netherlands’ Anne Van Dam by four strokes. Her final round of 70, while solid, didn’t enable her to enter the three-women playoff that ultimately determined the winner.

The Indian girls will now head to the Netherlands for the US$ 320,000 Big Green Egg Open from Sep. 8-10.
