The SGI Open will be held at Jaypee Greens, Greater Noida, on November 22 and 23

The SGI Open Delhi, a new and exciting addition to the capital’s golfing calendar, is inviting all amateur golfers with valid handicaps to compete for a spot on the official 5-member Indian team for the 2025 World Amateur Golfers Championship (WAGC) to be held at a top-class international destination in 2025.

This two-day event, being played at the Greg Norman-designed Jaypee Greens Golf Course in Greater Noida, outside the capital city of New Delhi, will give ordinary club amateurs a pathway to the World Final of the WAGC to compete on an international stage against 500 golfers from 40 countries in an unforgettable experience. The SGI Open will follow an individual net stroke-play format, with each hole capped at a maximum score of three-over-par, making it accessible and fair for all competitors.

This qualifying event will be held in true style, giving club golfers a feel of playing an international pro event, and is open to all amateur golfers with a valid WHS-recognised handicap index. A live scoring app will track each player’s performance, enhancing the competitive experience and adding to an extensive choice of golf apparel and accessory gifts that will equip each player to be at their best.

Players at the SGI Open will compete in five handicap divisions: 0-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20, and 21-25 in keeping with the WAGC categories. Golfers in Delhi who enter (on a first-come, first-served basis) are in for an unforgettable treat with the after-golf awards parties, promising to be lively and memorable.

The 2024 WAGC World Final was held in Phuket at 4 premier courses – Laguna Phuket, Red Mountain, Blue Canyon Lakes and Blue Canyon. At the world final, which is a 72-hole tournament, handicap adjustments are incorporated after each round to ensure a level playing field in both team and individual competitions.
