Shubham Jaglan, from the Delhi Golf Club, appears to be fulfilling the promise he showed as a junior golfer in India, having now completed his third-year on a golf scholarship at the University of South Florida. He’s had a stellar summer amateur season as well as was recently named All-American Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) for the 2nd consecutive year.
Jaglan had importantly chosen to compete in the best amateur events in USA this summer instead of returning home. He secured three consecutive top-5 finishes: 2nd at The Dogwood Invitational, 5th at the prestigious and historic Porter Cup, and 2nd at the Kentucky Open, an event open to professionals. This should do wonders for his World Rankings, which will get him into some major amateur tournaments in the future.
His college season included 3rd at the Sharkey Collegiate and 15 rounds of par or better, including six rounds in the 60s, leading to seven top-25 finishes, including two top 10’s. Jaglan maintains a high 3.72 Grade Point Average while pursuing a degree in finance.
To qualify for the All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must go beyond his first year in college and demand excellence in both sports and the classroom, a huge achievement for Shubham.
