Shubhankar Sharma makes steady start to his 2024 European Tour campaign
25-year-old Shubhankar Sharma, made cuts in his first two events as the 2024 European Tour season got underway in South Africa.
He shot even-par 288 with rounds of 73-69-75-71 to record a 45th finish at the US$ 1.5mn South African Open Championship in Johannesburg following a tied-54th finish in the Joburg Open, the tournament he won in 2017.
In 2023, Sharma played in 23 events, made the cut in 11 with a tied-7th finish as his best-result for the season at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and Horizon Irish Open besides the superlative 8th place finish at The Open championship where he picked up US$403,000 for the week .
Shubhankar will next play in the US$ 1.8mn Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek outside Johannesburg this week.
