Bangalore golfers, primarily from To the Tee Academy, did well at the Sri Lanka Juniors last week as they lifted 6 trophies.
Prima Sunrise has continued its tradition of supporting junior golf in Sri Lanka and this time it was no different as it hosted the Sri Lanka Junior Open Golf Championship at Royal Colombo Golf Club from Dec. 20-22 which saw over 100 junior golfers participate.
The event was organised by Sri Lanka Golf and backed by Prima Sunrise for the 15th consecutive year. Bhavika Unni from India emerged as the Girls champion, while Adithya Weerasinghe triumphed in the Boys Silver division.
In the Girls Silver segment, Keya Abhayaratne secured the top spot, displaying exceptional prowess with a score of 291. Lavidu Premarathne clinched the Bronze Medal in the Boys division, marking another success in the tournament.
The tournament’s closing day witnessed Revaan Amarasinghe dominating the Boys Copper division with an impressive score of 112, while Aasitha Rao of India claimed the Girls event’s top position. The Sri Lanka Junior Open Golf Championship 2023 provided a platform for these young golfers to showcase their talent and determination on the prestigious golfing stage.
To the Tee academy, a private initiative in North Bangalore has become an important training centre for burgeoning talent in the city inspired by the likes of India’s top ranked professional players – Anirban Lahiri and Aditi Ashok, among many others, who have called Bangalore their home.
