22-year-old Sunhit Bishnoi dominated the field at TNGF Cosmo Golf Course in Chennai, shooting 66-68-70-64 (20-under 268) to win his first professional title by nine-strokes, the largest margin of victory on the PGTI this year.

What makes it even more impressive was that Bishnoi built that margin on Sunday alone. He

was tied for the lead with Akshay Sharma heading into the final day but quickly took control with an eagle on the par-5 2nd hole and consecutive birdies from holes 3 to 5, making him 5-under through his first five holes. His final round 64 also matched the lowest score of the tournament set by Divyanshu Bajaj on Saturday.

Meanwhile Sharma, who had taken the lead with a birdie on the first hole, fell away and ultimately signed for a 75 to finish T6.

Bishnoi, who’s sister Gaurika Bishnoi is a regular top pro performer on the WGAI Tour, is the ninth different winner in nine events on the PGTI this year, collected the winning cheque worth Rs. 7,50,000 to to climb to ninth on the TATA Steel PGTI Rankings.

The tour will now head to Coimbatore for the Coimbatore Open at Coimbatore GC from Aug. 22-25.
