After Tiger was seen hitting balls every day on the range two weeks ago at his Hero World Challenge in Bahamas, speculation has been rife that he may tee it up again soon.

And he’s chosen to do so playing alongside his 12 year old son Charlie, just as he did a year ago at the Parent – Child event in Florida.

Woods hasn’t played a tournament since his horrific car accident in L.A. last February, which left him with a shattered leg. In an interview with Golf Digest last month, Woods revealed that because of all his injuries, it is unlikely he will ever be able to play a full schedule on tour again. However he is hopeful of being able to pick and choose a few events each year in the same manner Ben Hogan did after the latter recovered from his car accident.

Tiger announced his participation for the Parent Child event scheduled for Dec. 18-19 at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida on Twitter.

It’s unclear just how far along Woods is in his recovery and how much strain his leg can take. Millions of fans around the world will be spellbound to see how his leg holds up in action.

The PNC Championship is a unique tournament where major champions from the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour and Champions Tour can play alongside a family member. Tiger and Charlie made their debut last year, finishing seventh in a 20-team field. In addition to Woods, this year’s field includes newly crowned Major champion Nelly Korda with her former World No2 tennis player dad Petr Korda, and legends Tom Watson, Lee Trevino, Nick Faldo, and Gary Player with their sons. Last year’s winner was PGA Tour superstar Justin Thomas with his father.
