The 121st edition of the U.S. Open is all set to be played for the second time at Torrey Pines in San Diego, California from June 17th-20th, where Bryson DeChambeau will try defending his title he won last year by a margin of six strokes over Matthew Wolff at Winged Foot Golf Course.
The last time it was played at Torrey Pines, Tiger Woods, playing on a bad leg with a torn ACL, birdied the 72nd hole to force an 18-hole playoff with Rocco Mediate and defeated him in the playoff for his third U.S. Open title and a 14th major title in 2008.
Torrey Pines is going to play, par-71, 7,643 yards long for the US$ 12.5mn prize fund major, with US$ 2.25mn as the winner’s share.
