India Golf Weekly brings our readers news of Indian golfers doing well wherever they may be in the world so here is an update on four of our top amateurs playing college golf in USA.
Shubham Jaglan
Shubham Jaglan from Delhi, a third year student at University of South Florida recently finished his spring season with the team with a ninth place finish as a team and tied-13th individually at the NCAA Rancho Santa Fe Regional.
Jaglan has participated in nine events in 2024, with his best finish being 3rd at the Thomas Sharkey Individual in February.
Jaglan has told India Golf Weekly, “ A good finish at the Regionals was a great way to end the year and lead me into my summer. I plan to stay in the US and mostly focus on practice. Discussed with my coaches and we feel that I need to focus on my practice over the summer instead to trying to play a lot of tournaments so that I am ready for my last year. I plan to play 2-4 events in the next 3 months or so but mainly just put my head down and get better.”

Raghav Chugh, another top Indian amateur who proceeded to moved from Delhi to USA for college golf and currently a third year student at Rice University in Houston, Texas, was named Golf Coaches Association of America All-America Scholar in August 2023 and also earned First Team All-Conference USA honours after leading the team with a 72.25 stroke average. His best tournament finish was a 2nd place at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational.
In his 2023-2024 season, Chugh has participated in 10 tournaments for the team while maintaining a 73.39 stroke average. Chugh has shot 15 rounds of under 70, making him 2nd best on the team and has five top-5 finishes,
