In Memoriam
The golf industry has been reeling with shock with the news that Kiran Meda, Director of Eagleton, The Golf Resort, in Bangalore, passed away on May 31st after almost a year long battle with cancer.
Kiran’s father Ashok Kumar, who passed away some years ago, was the founder of Eagleton, and since then, Kiran and his brother Chetan Meda have been running the resort and the development of their next project, Eagleburg, in Mysore.
Kiran was 49 years old and celebrated his birthday last month.
While Chetan was responsible for managing the golf course, Kiran looked after the hotel property and development of Eagleburg. Always a positive, smiling personality, Kiran’s loss is a big blow to the golf community. Theirs is a pioneering family for golf development in India, with Eagleton being a little ahead of its time.
