28-year-old Tvesa Malik of Gurgaon shot 65-74-73 (4-under 212) to win the Hero WPGT’s 13th Leg by a massive eight strokes on her home course of DLF Golf & CC in Gurgaon.
Malik was the only player to finish under par for the tournament. Jasmine Shekar, Neha Tripathi, who won the previous leg at Golden Greens, and Khushi Khanijau finished at 4-over 220 to share second place
Malik began the final day with a three-shot lead and though she did not play her best, none of her closest competitors mounted a significant challenge. She held a 10-shot lead on the 18th, which she double bogeyed to account for her final margin of victory.
Pranavi Urs, who will represent India at the upcoming Asian Games in China, finished in seventh place with a total score of 7-over 223.
The Hero 2023 Rankings leader, 18 year old Sneha Singh of Mysore who is headed to the LPGA Tour qualifying 2nd stage in a couple of weeks along with Pranavi Urs, had another disappointing week, tying for 11th place alongside last year’s WGAI #2 Seher Atwal.
Leg-14, the last event on the Tour will be played at the Delhi Golf Club from Sep. 26-29, before the US$400,000 Ladies European Tour’s Hero Women’s Indian Open at DLF GC next month.
