The United States Golf Association honoured its outgoing CEO, Mike Davis by  renaming its most impactful sustainability initiative as the Mike Davis Program for Advancing Golf Course Management.

This is the single largest private grant program in golf dedicated to advancing innovation in sustainability and improving the on-course experience of players. The USGA annually invests nearly $2 million in the program ($45 million to date), which has resulted in better playing conditions, dramatic cost savings and a more environmentally friendly game across the world.

Davis announced last fall that he’d be leaving the USGA at the end of 2021 to pursue a long time passion for golf course design and construction, teaming with celebrated American designer Tom Fazio II.

The highly successful current Ladies Professional Golf Association ( LPGA) CEO, Mike Whan will replace Mike Davis later this year.
