In a continuation of USHA International’s support to junior golf and the Delhi Golf Club the 13th DGC Junior/Sub-Junior Golf Tournament presented by Usha was held last week with over 100 boys and girls in age categories from 8 to 21 years, playing the main 18 hole championship Lodhi course as well as the shorter 9 hole Peacock Course over three days.
“Usha’s association with the Delhi Golf Club is an extension of our brand’s ethos to promote an active and healthy lifestyle and aligns with our vision of creating inclusive sporting platforms,” said Ms Komal Mehra, Head of Sports Initiatives and Associations.
Anuva Saurabh, Tournament Coordinator DGC, said, “Usha has always supported our golfing initiatives. Being out there on the greens for six hours every day in this weather says something for their tenacity.
USHA supports and promotes a diverse range of inclusive sporting initiatives across the country aligned with our ethos Usha ‘Play,’ which not only promotes a healthy and active lifestyle but also fosters community bonding. These include the association with the Mumbai Indians franchise, Flying Disc, Golf, Cricket, and sports for the visually challenged (athletics, kabaddi, judo, and powerlifting). Usha is also deeply committed to reviving and popularising local indigenous sports such as Kalari, Mallakhamb, Siat Khnam, Thang-Ta, Saz-Loung, Satoliya (popularly known as Pithu), and more.
