25-year-old Veer Ahlawat of Gurgaon who has had a fine run in the past few months including a Tied-6th finish at the DGC Open and two top 10 finishes, finished strongly on the weekend to end with 32 stableford points over four days to finish tied-21st at the US$ 750,000 Trust Golf Asian Mixed Stableford Challenge in Pattaya, Thailand.
The Trust Golf Mixed Stableford was the second consecutive mixed event in two weeks on the Asian Tour with male and female players participating.
The tournament was won by Stanford graduate American Sihwan Kim who collected 49 points over four days to beat 22-year-old upcoming Ladies European Tour star from Sweden, Maja Stark by a two-points margin.
Ahlawat picked up a cheque of US$ 8268 (₹6.3 lacs) and lies 46th on the 2022 Asian Tour Order of Merit rankings where he has registered two top-10’s in his 7 starts – Tied-5th at the SMBC Singapore Open in January and Tied-6th at the Delhi GC Open in March.
Five of the 11 Indians made the cut. Asian Tour winners, Shiv Kapur & Viraj Madappa collected matching 28 points to finish tied-33rd, followed by Rashid Khan at 22 points for a tied-54th position. Among the two Indian ladies, Olympian and former LET winner Diksha Dagar made the cut and finished tied-64th at 20 points.
The Indian pros who failed to make the cut of 11 points included –

The tour will now take a two week break before resuming in South Korea for the US$ 950,000 41st GS Caltex Maekyung Open from May 5-8 at Namseoul Country Club.
