Rahil Gangjee won his second ADT title of the season in Vietnam

Kolkata’s 45-year-old Rahil Gangjee, a veteran of various international tours,  continued to outdo his younger Indian competitors as he secured victory at  the (ADT) Asian Development Tour’s US$100,000 event in Vietnam. This is Gangjee’s second ADT title in three months, which propels him to No. 1 spot of the ADT rankings and virtually assures him of earning full playing rights on the main Asian Tour in 2025.

Meanwhile, 28-year-old Aman Raj, a four-time winner on the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) tied for second place one shot behind Gangjee.

As seasoned players like Gangjee continue to shine, the wait continues for India’s younger golfers to step up and make their mark on the international stage. While Yuvraj Singh Sandhu claimed an ADT title in Indonesia last season, India seems to be no match for even neighbouring Thailand that pumps out literally dozens of new stars on the Asian Tour year after year.

Among other Indians, Arjun Sharma at 6th and Sunhit Bishnoi at 10th also finished well this week with Arjun Prasad and Gaurav Pratap Singh making the cut while Akshay Sharma & Pukhraj Singh Gill missed.

The ADT continues in Indonesia next week for the US$125,000 Indonesia Pro-Am.

As the tour continues, the performance of both seasoned veterans and emerging talents will be closely watched.
