Vidhatri Urs, 18, the 2023 All India Ladies Amateur Champion from Mysore, secured her second consecutive victory in just her fourth start on the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour (Hero WPGT) at the immaculate Prestige Golfshire in Bangalore.

Vidhatri, cousin of Ladies European Tour pro Pranavi Urs, carded rounds of 75-69-74, tying with tour veteran Amandeep Drall of Panchkula who scored 72-76-70 to get into the playoff.

In the playoff, Vidhatri clinched the win on the first extra hole with a par, while Amandeep missed the fairway. Vidhatri entered the final round with a two-shot lead, carding a final round 74. Amandeep, four strokes behind after 36 holes, shot the day’s best round of 70 to catch up, forcing the playoff.

Sneha Singh of Hyderabad, a two-time winner this season, finished third with rounds of 77-71-71, totaling 3-over 219, signalling perhaps that her form is returning.

The Hero WPGT tour will take a month’s break in August and resume with its 11th Leg at Delhi Golf Club from September 10-13 in the run-up to the US$400,000 Hero Women’s Open on the Ladies European Tour which will be held from October 24 to 27.
