Over 100 golfers aged 50 and above will compete at the Vredestein Tyres Champions Tournament at Oxford Golf Resort in Pune from Jan. 6-7, 2022. The Vredestein Tyres event will be the third of the current season on the AVT Champions Tour that sees the best veteran Indian amateurs in action from around the country.
After the fourth and final event of the current season, scheduled at ITC Classic Golf Resort, Gurgaon, March 10-11, 2022, the season long champion will be crowned based on maximum points earned across all four events.
The tour, now in its 3rd season, is a series of four annual tournaments that attracts the best veteran players in the country, such as Asian Games gold medalists Lakshman Singh, Rishi Narain & Amit Luthra, former All India Senior’s Champions Ashok Malik, Alan Singh, Gangesh Khaitan & Vijay Kumar, 1983 cricket world cup team winning captain Kapil Dev, as well as senior internationals Jaspreet Bakshi, Anil Jule, Ajai Sirohi, Capt Cheema & GC Sharma, and former men’s internationals like Arvind Khanna of Delhi and Sanjeev Mehera of Kolkata.
