While Aditi Ashok was scoring a dominating win at the Kenya Open, another Indian golfer to make a splash was two-time All India Amateur Ladies champ, 16 year old Avani Prashanth of Bangalore shooting 75-75-73-72 (3-over 295) to a creditable 9th. Prashanth made the cut, which fell at +9, by a comfortable five shots, and then put together rounds of even par and one-under on the weekend to move into the top-10.
The only other Indian to make the cut was WGAI pro Amandeep Drall, who shot 74-74-83-77 (16-over 308) to finish T52nd.
Other Indians in the field who missed the cut at 9-over 155 included –
Diksha Dagar – 78-80 (+12)
Seher Atwal – 81-77 (+12)
Vani Kapoor – 81-77 (+12)
