15-year-old Zara Anand from Noida delivered a commanding performance at the Indian Golf Union (IGU) Tamil Nadu Ladies & Junior Girls Championship, carding consistent rounds of 70-70-70 for a 6-under total of 210. Her record-breaking 14-stroke victory at Coimbatore Golf Club further solidified her reputation as one of India’s rising golf stars.
Zara was the only player to post under-par scores in all three rounds. Sri Lanka’s Kaya Daluwatte (76-76-72) and Bangalore’s Saanvi Somu (72-77-75) shared the runner-up position with matching totals of 8-over 224.
This victory adds to Zara’s growing list of achievements, following her impressive run to the Round of 16 at the R&A Girls’ Amateur Championship in Alwoodley two weeks ago, where she was honored by the IGU for her performance. Currently ranked No. 2 in the IGU rankings, Zara continues to make her mark on the junior circuit.
In the Ladies category, Eti Chaudhary clinched victory with rounds of 79-73-83, finishing three strokes ahead at 19-over par.
The tournament drew 47 of the top-ranked players competing across four categories, showcasing the depth of talent in Indian junior and ladies golf.
