Aditi finished tied-37th in Los Angeles
India’s lone LPGA player, 27-year-old Aditi Ashok recorded a solid finish at the LPGA’s JM Eagle LA Championship, tying for 37th place with a total score of 10-under 278 in Los Angeles, held from April 17–20 with rounds of 66-71-72-69 in only her third LPGA start of the 2025 season.
This was the seventh edition of the tournament that particularly stood out for its doubled purse of $3.75 million in prize money, making it one of the most lucrative events on the LPGA calendar outside the Majors. This is owed largely to the leadership of Walter and Shirley Wang, CEOs of JM Eagle and Plastpro, who took over as the event sponsor last year. Players were also offered complimentary hotel accommodations and over $100,000 in giveaways. Their initiative has since influenced nearly a dozen LPGA events to raise their prize funds.
Positioned just before the season’s first Major, the LA stop provided a crucial tune-up for the first Major of the season, The Chevron Championship, this week in Texas with an $8 million purse.
