Indian-American amateur Megha Ganne capped her fifth appearance at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur (ANWA) with a tied-7th finish, ending a week that began with a historic first-round 63 at Champions Retreat Golf Club.

The 21-year-old Stanford University 3rd-year student, ranked No. 12 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), entered the final round at Augusta National Golf Club on April 5 in contention after her opening-round 63—the lowest score in ANWA history. Ganne’s bogey-free 9-under in the first round broke the previous tournament record of 65 set by former World No. 1 amateur Rose Zhang in 2023, and gave her a two-shot lead over current World No. 1 amateur Lottie Woad.

Ganne followed her record-breaking opener with consecutive rounds of 73, including the final round at Augusta National, to finish the 54-hole championship at 7-under-par. It marked her best ANWA result to date and third time making the cut, following previous final-round appearances in 2022 and 2023, with a prior best of T-9.

Ganne’s trajectory remains closely watched by both U.S. and Indian golf communities, as she edges closer to a professional debut.
