PGA Tour & Netflix join hands to produce an ‘F1’ style documentary
Netflix, the American streaming service, has joined hands with the PGA Tour and the four Major championships to produce a documentary series about the lives of tour players as they compete against each other for the sport’s biggest prizes.
The documentary will take viewers inside the ropes and behind the scenes at events such as The Masters, PGA Championship, U.S. Open Championship and The Open, as well as The Players Championship and season-ending FedEx Cup events.
“This partnership with Netflix presents the PGA TOUR and the four major championships an opportunity to tap into a completely new and diverse audience,” said Rick Anderson, Chief Media Officer of the PGA TOUR. “This documentary will give fans an authentic look into the real lives of our athletes, and what it’s like to win — and lose — during a season on the PGA TOUR.”
The documentary series will showcase not just the highs of victory and the lows of defeat, but also the intensity of training and the amount of travel today’s pros undergo. Among the players who have confirmed their participation are major champions Sergio Garcia, Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth, Colin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, and Bubba Watson.
Reigning Olympic champion Xander Schauffele will also be part of the series, as will Keita Nakajima, the world’s No. 1 ranked amateur, who will be playing in three of the four Majors. (as an amateur he is not eligible to play in the PGA).

One player who will not be part of the show is Bryson DeChambeau. Arguably one of the most interesting characters on tour, DeChambeau said the documentary sounded too invasive for his liking.
Filming is already underway and will continue throughout 2022.
