The Adani Group, in collaboration with the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), is staging the first-ever Adani Invitational Golf Championship this week, from April 1-4, at the Jaypee Greens Golf & Spa Resort in Greater Noida.
The event, carrying a total prize purse of ₹1.5 crore, marks PGTI’s return to Jaypee Greens after more than a decade. A Pro-Am event will follow on April 5.
This championship underscores Adani’s first investment in Indian pro golf and its commitment to fostering talent. “We are delighted to collaborate with PGTI and Kapil Dev Ji to contribute to the growth of Indian professional golf,” said Mr. Pranav Adani, Director, Adani Enterprises Limited.
India’s top professional golfers are playing this week, including Ajeetesh Sandhu, Om Prakash Chouhan, Yuvraj Sandhu, Shaurya Bhattacharya, Rahil Gangjee, Rashid Khan, and Saptak Talwar (who enjoys a home-course advantage).
The international contingent includes Sri Lanka’s N Thangaraja and K Prabagaran and Italians Michele Ortolani and Federico Zucchetti, among others.
As a precursor to the tournament, the Adani Group and PGTI inaugurated a joint golf training academy at Belvedere Golf & Country Club, Ahmedabad, on March 29, 2025. The launch event featured a golf clinic conducted by five leading Indian professionals for students from The Adani International School, in the presence of Mr. Pranav Adani and PGTI President Kapil Dev.
The initiative aligns with Adani’s vision to make golf more accessible in India and nurture the next generation of global champions. The group’s grassroots development efforts also tie into India’s 2036 Olympic aspirations, reflecting a long-term commitment to sporting excellence.
By integrating high-level competition with structured training programs, the Adani Group aims to elevate the profile of golf in India, bridging the gap between emerging talent and international success.
