A new landmark event in the capital – the SGI Open Delhi – is open to all amateur golfers, combining golf and top-class entertainment. The two-day event is set to take place on November 22 and 23 at the picturesque Greg Norman-designed Jaypee Greens Golf Course in Greater Noida. This eagerly awaited tournament offers the excitement of exclusive selection for amateur golfers aspiring to represent India at the 2025 World Amateur Golfers Championship (WAGC), one of the world’s largest corporate amateur golf tournaments.
The event offers amateur players a platform to compete in a professional-style setting, with the winners from five handicap categories earning a chance to join the Indian team at next year’s WAGC World Final. The categories include: 0-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20, and 21-25, and the format will be individual net stroke play, with a scoring cap of three-over-par per hole to ensure a fair and engaging competition.
Participants will benefit from real-time scoring via a dedicated app, enabling them to track their progress while enjoying a seamless tournament experience.
The SGI Open Delhi stands as a gateway to the WAGC, where winners will compete alongside golfers from across the globe. The 2024 WAGC World Final was held in Phuket across four premier courses, and the 2025 WAGC World Final will be held in Jeju Island, in South Korea.
The anticipation around the SGI Open Delhi is palpable with close to 200 golfers having registered. For those yet to register, this event presents a rare opportunity to test their skills in a highly competitive yet inclusive format.
