Former European Tour winners 24-year-old Shubhankar Sharma, and Gaganjeet Bhullar, 33, made cuts at the US$ 4.1mn Irish Open. Sharma shot 74-67-72-72 (3-under 285) to finish tied-56th and Bhullar shot 71-68-70-80 (1-over 289) to finish tied-66th, dropping 45 spots in his disappointing final round, which he started in 21st position.
Sharma, playing his first event in three weeks, made his first cut since his tied-8th on May 30 in Denmark. Bhullar too made his first cut since the Canary Islands Championship in May, after which he took a month’s break for training in California.
In 2021, Sharma has made 8 cuts in 15 events with US$ 132,000 (₹98 lakhs) in season earnings. Bhullar has made 5 cuts in 11 starts with US$ 149,000 (₹1.1 crores) for the season so far. They will next play the US$ 8mn Scottish Open, a Rolex series event, from July 8-11.
