34-year-old PGA Tour regular Anirban Lahiri shot 71-69-73-68 (7-under 281) to finish tied-52nd at the US$ 7.2mn Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit, Michigan, adding US$17,775 (₹13.2 lakhs) to his current season earnings which has reached US$ 700,000 (₹5.2 crores approx.) with two top 10’s and 9 cuts made in 18 starts.
Lahiri is currently ranked 123rd on the Tour. If he maintains a top 125 position till the end of this season, he will retain playing rights for the PGA tour in 2022, which will be his 5th consecutive year.
Lahiri will be getting ready to compete in the Tokyo Olympics for which he qualified based on his world ranking, where Men’s Golf is scheduled from July 29 to August 1 at the hallowed old Kasumigaseki Country Club, 35 miles outside Tokyo. He will be joined in Tokyo by Udayan Mane, who earned his ranking based on points earned primarily from his multiple wins on the domestic PGTI Tour.
