Tushar Pannu reigns supreme at 96th Albatross Junior Golf Tournament

Tushar Pannu fired a two-over 74 to clinch the Boys Category A competition of the 96th Albatross Junior Golf Tournament that was played at the Noida Golf Course from June 26-27. Pannu mixed three birdies with three bogeys and a double-bogey to finish with a two-day tally of 146, three strokes ahead of Vedant Sirohi who shot a nine-over par 81.

Vedant, who had three birdies and an eagle in his opening round of 68, had a rough final round that included 10 bogeys and a lone birdie, which all but sealed his fate in the Senior A Category. Shaurya Bhattacharya finished third at 152.

Heena Kang (73, 81) clinched the Senior A Category for girls at 154, while Smriti Bhargav (86, 78) finished second 10 strokes behind.

Other winners (Boys) included Anshul Kabthiyal(Cat B), Parth Raman Sood (Cat C), Kartik Singh (Cat D), while Renee Rane (Cat B), Ceerat Kang (Cat C) and Parnika Sharma (Cat D) emerged victorious in the Girls categories.

Albatross Junior Tour Golfers shine at Menpora-Pagi International Junior Golf Championship

Albatross Junior Tour (AJT) players did the country proud at the recently concluded Menpora-PAGI International Junior Golf Championship played at the Emerald Golf Club, Jakarta from July 8-11.

Designed by Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus,
the challenging 27-hole layout really tested the junior golfers. Sneha Sharan and Kirti Chouhan finished as runners-up in the Girls Category A and B respectively. Sneha finished at level par 216, one stroke behind the eventual champion, while Kirti ended with a three-day tally of 19 over 235. Team AJT clinched second place in the Girls category. In the Boys Category A, Aryaman Mohan finished third runner-up with a three-day tally of 11 over 227, while Parthian Sood received the fourth runner-up position in Category C for boys.

Jointly organised by the Indonesian Sport and Youth Ministry (Menpora)
and national golf academy association PAGI, the tournament hosted 144
junior golfers from 14 countries including India, China, the United States, South Korea, Indonesia, and Thailand, among others.
