Upgame Launches Practice Feature

Successfully gaining traction worldwide with its course statistics, Upgame has recently launched a feature that allows users to track their statistics during practice.
“The training feature has been a great addition to the app and has been extremely well received across our entire user base and it is our mission to help golfers play better. We are soon going to be adding scoring games to this to make practice less mundane!” said Sameer Sawhney, Founder at Upgame.
Why this feature was built –

  • Golfers are constantly complaining about how they play on the range versus the course. The Training feature was developed as a great way to test that.
  • Golfers are prone to practising what they are comfortable with as opposed to practising off difficult lies or shaping shots. The Training feature helps them expand their repertoire.
    How is it used?
  • The training feature can be used in two useful ways – a. Students can do these practice tests on themselves and share their scores with their coaches. This allows coaches to keep a tab on students when they are away and know what they were practising.
  • For coaches with junior students who don’t play on the course as much, it is a great way to measure and track performance.
    How can it help coaches?
  • For older students, it gives coaches a clear idea on how they do in a coach’s absence or during practice.
  • For really young kids in Junior Training Programmes, it allows coaches to conduct timely ‘Skills Challenges’ in which a points-based leaderboard can be generated and shared with parents.
