Olympics announces mixed-team golf event for 2028
In a major development for the sport, the International Golf Federation (IGF) has confirmed the addition of an Olympic Golf Mixed-Team Event, which will debut at the Los Angeles 2028 (LA28) Olympic Games. Approved by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board on April 9, this new format will be staged alongside the existing men’s and women’s individual golf events. LET: Another Top-10 for Diksha in South Africa
The €340,000 Investec South African Women’s Open, held from April 10-13 at the Erinvale Country and Golf Estate in Cape Town, concluded the South African leg of the 2025 Ladies European Tour (LET) season. Five Indian girls featured in the field, with Delhi’s Diksha Dagar unsurprisingly finishing as the best-placed among them. The 24-year-old closed with a 4-under 68 in the final round to finish tied-ninth at 8-under 280 (72-71-69-68), securing her fourth Top-12 finish for this season. After Adani, Indorama Ventures boosts PGTI fortunes
For the 2nd successive week, a new title sponsor debuted on the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI). First it was Indian behemoth Adani Group, whose event took place at Jaypee Greens in Greater Noida. Last week in Ahmedabad, it was Indorama Ventures, with a turnover of over US$15 billion, that made its first foray into golf. IGU holds National Golf Camp at Jaypee
The Indian Golf Union (IGU) is holding a camp for a 10-man National Amateur Squad from April 14-19, after a long gap. The camp at Jaypee Greens, Greater Noida, is intense and multi-disciplinary in preparation for the upcoming German International Amateur Championship scheduled from May 1-4. The participating golfers—Arin Ahuja, Rakshit Dahiya, Sukhman Singh, Kanav Chauhan, Varun Muthappa, Ayan Gupta, Jaiveer, Deepak Yadav, Sandeep Yadav, and Vinamra Anand—were shortlisted by the IGU based on their rankings.
