Tiger Woods has committed to play at the Farmers Insurance Open from January 24-27, 2019, making his 2019 season debut after playing “The Match” against Phil Mickelson on November 23, 2018.

The event where Tiger has won seven times – 1999, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2013 and the course where the event is held – Torrey Pines – Tiger has won total of eight time, including one U.S. Open title (his third) in 2008.

The annual PGA TOUR event in San Diego, has been a season opener for him over the years. He is now ranked 12th after a successful 2018 season that saw him post seven top-10 finishes in 18 starts, including his 80th PGA Tour victory at the Tour Championship.
Woods last played an official PGA TOUR event at The TOUR Championship where he defeated Billy Horschel with two-strokes to claim his 80th PGA TOUR title of his career.
The only other tournament where he has announced to play is Genesis Open at Riviera from February 14, 2019.
The tournament will be hosting World No. 8 Rory McIlroy for the first time in his career, an event where he has been long awaited. The Irishman had made it clear that his primary focus is being on the PGA TOUR and he will even consider foregoing his European Tour card to remain on this side of the world.
