The fourth week on the road concluded at the 2019 Four Winds Invitational in South Bend, Indiana.
The 10th week on the Symetra Tour hosted at Blackthorn Golf Club. The golf course was in excellent condition. It was lush green from the recent rain South Bend has had the past week. The course was a good test for the field.
RELATED: My experience at Zimmer Biomet
This week was difficult to swollen having coming from a tournament where I saw such progress. There is no excuse for my recent performance other than internal reflection.
However, that is golf. These past four weeks on the road have given me good feedback. Some feedback I may not have wanted to admit but the information I need to perform at the level in which I know I can. I gave it all each day, and unfortunately, it was not up to my usual performance. It is effortless to slip into the negative, but after a long talk on the phone with my coach, I recognized what I needed to do going forward and create an action plan for future tournaments. As my coach says, “Strength does not come from what you can do, it comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn’t.” it may be taking me more time than anticipated to find myself, but I know I am trending in the right direction. The only thing to do now is to stay positive and play golf.
Another aspect travelling on the Symetra Tour is the opportunity of staying in host housing from week to week. The past four weeks I have been staying with multiple host families. I have been blessed with meeting wonderful families. These families know exactly who they are and myself and Symetra Tour players, all thanks to them for opening their homes. I have made so many great memories and met some lovely people along my journey that I am very thankful for.
The 11th week on Tour continues at the Forsyth Golf Classic in Decatur, Illinois, where I am headed next and excited to be.
